We are delighted to announce that GameDay has been selected as the Official Technology Partner of England Futsal.
GameDay has today launched a brand-new website and events platform for England Futsal, as the first stage of a wider digital partnership that will come to support all levels of the sport’s delivery and competitions.
England Futsal is a new independent venture, which will partner with The FA over an initial five-year period, with the aim of providing long-term stability and growth for futsal in the country.
The new venture will be led by the highly experienced sports administrator Stephen Mitchell and see England Futsal become the official delivery partner for the format.
England Futsal will deliver the grassroots development of Futsal, including coach education, referee development and mentoring, regional youth leagues and the talent inclusion programme, to support futsal participation for boys and girls.
The FA and its Futsal Committee will maintain overall responsibility for the governance of Futsal in England including sanctioning, discipline, and futsal regulations.
England Futsal’s new GameDay website will showcase the best of the sport and act as a hub for the community to access the game, whilst their GameDay events platform will run coaching courses moving forward to support the game’s development.
GameDay will be developing its work with England Futsal in the New Year, including launching a full Membership & Competitions offer across the game’s structures, with further updates and announcements to follow in due course.
Greg Sturge, GameDay director of strategy (EMEA), said: “We are delighted to be partnering with England Futsal as their Official Technology Partner at the start of their exciting new journey as they look to reignite futsal, a fast-growing and modern sport.
“We can’t wait to see how the game evolves in the coming years, and to play our part in supporting and delivering that growth. We believe that England Futsal will rapidly come to be leading examples of the integrated digital services GameDay can deliver across a sporting National Governing Body, and look forward to growing and delivering our partnership with them.”
Stephen Mitchell, director of England Futsal, said: “Our ambitions are to create the long-term stability and growth for futsal in this country, in partnership with The FA, so it can flourish in the future. Building an organisation which is well governed, fit for the future, community-centred and works effectively across futsal, football and the broader sport and physical activity is hugely important to all of those involved in today’s announcement.
“England Futsal are delighted to be partnering with GameDay to provide our core digital infrastructure as we set up our own operations for the future of the sport.
“With our front-facing website and our back-end delivery management systems all being provided by them and intrinsically linked, we look forward to developing a slick and easy platform from which players of all levels will be able to access and engage with the sport.”

About England Futsal
England Futsal is being established as the national governing body for the sport of futsal across the country, responsible for its operations, governance, talent and player pathways, and coach and officials education. From working within the Football Association, they are now becoming a semi-independent entity with a clear and focused remit on the delivery and development of the sport.
Records suggest that the sport was first played in England in 1936, and in the FA’s 2018 Futsal Strategy, it was estimated that over 10,000 dedicated futsal players participated regularly in the UK, although that figure is now expected to be far higher due to the vast growth of the sport’s popularity over recent years.
