It’s time to introduce you to the GameDay team!

Get to know our fantastic group that little bit better. Next up is Sport Specialist Kosta Dokolas.

When did you join the GameDay team?

November 2018.

What is your sport of choice as a spectator?

AFL, cricket & football – into the early hours however!

Are there any sporting activities that you like to participate in?

Played cricket and football as a kid. Is poker a sport these days, as it’s a little kinder on my ankles?!

Who is your sporting hero and why?

Loved watching Stephen Silvagni, #1 for the mighty Blues. Loved the passion and all-out effort he displayed. Mark Waugh was my cricket hero, so smooth and classy.

What is your favourite sporting memory or experience?

Greece winning the 2004 Euros was unforgettable. Longest party ever after that!

Describe a normal working day for you in four sentences or less…

We kick off with a short macc, promising first half start with clearing my emails and follow up items. The second half kicks off much like the first with another short macc before a number of internal/external meetings (sometimes boycotted by my daughter dancing and singing in the background), before a strong finish to full-time. Of course there is sometimes some extra time to play out once the kids are in bed and I get a chance to tidy loose ends before the next day.

What is your favourite way to relax?

Playing with my kids – five-month-old Lucas & four-year-old Eliana. I also seem to get into a YouTube wormhole most nights (though I’m sure I’m not the only one!).

Do you have any pets?

Two cats, Zara and Delilah. The latter had a litter recently and we gave away the kittens, much to my four-year-old’s objections!

Favourite band/musician?

Vocal House, Retro as well as some Greek dance music. I enjoy some hard rock/metal at the gym, which is too far and between.

What is something you want to achieve in 2021?

Pretty excited with GameDay updates and pipeline upgrades this year. Definitely need to pick up the guitar I kicked off during lockdown too!
